Discussions at MONDIACULT 2022 will be focused on the role of governments in supporting resilience, inclusion and sustainability in arts and culture, the role of culture in achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promotion and protection of cultural heritage and strengthening the creative economy (training, working conditions and artistic freedom).

Your urgent concerns and examples could focus on issues such as (but not limited to):

  • The value of arts, culture and heritage in daily life
  • Role of culture and heritage in sustainable development (achieving the UN 2030 Agenda - Sustainable Developments Goals such as social inclusion, gender equality and peace)
  • Role of culture in addressing the climate crisis
  • Heritage protection and promotion particularly on illicit trafficking of cultural property
  • Cultural rights including cultural participation for all citizens
  • Access to cultural infrastructure (such as museums, galleries and other arts and cultural spaces and venues)
  • Interministerial co-operation (embedding culture in other policy agendas)
  • Opportunities for civil society to engage in policy dialogue and co-design with public authorities in your country/region
  • Public-private partnerships
  • Investment in artists, cultural workers and cultural organisations
  • Increase funding for international cultural cooperation and mobility opportunities including free flow of goods and services
  • Post-Covid recovery of cultural and creative sectors
  • Job creation and retention in the creative economy
  • Working conditions in the cultural and creative sectors (such as fair pay, social protection of its workers and safe workplaces)
  • Copyrights and intellectual property
  • Training, upskilling and digital competencies for those working in arts, culture and heritage sector
  • Arts, culture and heritage institutions adapting to the digital environment
  • Artistic freedom, gender equality and diversity in the cultural and creative sectors
  • Support policy monitoring and evaluation systems, and address impact assessments and data gaps in the arts, culture and heritage sectors
